I love the books with the lessons, but I was a little disapointed by the teacher guide. It doesn't offer any teaching suggestions that you can do with stuff around the house or games you can make up. You have to buy more merchandise from the company for all of the other suggestions. I thought it had more sales pitches than teaching suggestions.

The Get Ready, Get Set, Go for the Code series is the perfect beginning phonics program for young ones. The pictures are a little silly (what 4 year old doesn't like silly) and the exercises are quick enough for short attention spans. Each letter is given about 8 pages of work and reviewed in following lessons. Although my son already knew the sounds of the letters and how to basically write them, these books have really fine tuned his knowledge, getting him ready for reading. Another plus is the price, which I don't think can be beat. It should be stated that the teacher's guide (just the one for the 3 workbooks) is a must for the listening exercises through out the books. I will be using this series for my other child and highly recommend them to any parent of a preschooler.
